This 3 Oz Silver Coin is the second release in the “Gods of the World” series and depicts Ra, the Sun God, one of the most important gods in ancient Egypt.

Who was Ra the Sun God?

Ra was the ancient Egyptian sun god.
By the Fifth Dynasty in the 25th and 24th centuries BC, he had become a major god in ancient Egyptian religion, identified primarily with the noon sun.
In later Egyptian dynastic times, Ra was merged with the god Horus, as Ra-Horakhty (“Ra, who is Horus of the Two Horizons”).
He was believed to rule in all parts of the created world: the sky, the earth, and the underworld.

The Reverse

The reverse of the coin depicts the beautiful image of the God Ra, holding the eye of Horus, over a background with ancient pyramids. The coin is full of details and is minted with a great precision. On the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: “RA – SUN GOD” – the name of the coin. Thanks to the Smartminting technology it features incredible and very detailed high reliefs.

The Obverse

The obverse of the coin portrays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “20 DOLLARS” – the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” - the issuing country and “2018” – the year of issue. The coin has an Antique Finish quality with dark highlights and a limited mintage of only 333 pcs worldwide!
