The reverse of the coin depicts the close-up of a classic extra-terrestrial face with large eyes, over a futuristic background. On the right of the reverse, the inscriptions: "BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES 1942" – the name of the coin and "2017" – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin shows a beautiful representation in colours of the battle that occurred in California and the Coat of Arms of Burkina Faso. The obverse also presents the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO" – the issuing country and "1000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value.
