LAACHER SEE Volcano Mountains of Fire 1 Oz Silver Coin 1000 Francs Cameroon 2020

The reverse of the coin depicts a wonderful image of the Lacheer See, a volcanic caldera in the Eifel mountain range, and is part of the East Eifel volcanic field within the larger Vulkan Eifel. The lake was formed by a Plinian eruption approximately 12,900 years BP with a Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 6, on the same scale as the Pinatubo eruption of 1991. On the reverse, a real Lava insert and the inscriptions: "LAACHER SEE" – the name of the coin and "2020" – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin represents the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Cameroon and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" - the issuing country and "1000 FRANCS CFA"- the face value.
