GARUDA AND NAGA the Mythic Battle of Dynamic Opposites Set 2 x 2 Oz Silver Coins 10000 Francs Chad 2020

The reverse of the first coin represents Garuda, the national symbol of Thailand. Statues and images of Garuda adorn many temples in Thailand and it is usually shown in an anthropomorphic form. Garuda is the vehicle mount of the Hindu God Vishnu and is generally a protector and an enemy of the serpent, Naga. The second coin represents Naga, an equally powerful symbol as Garuda in Thailand. It symbolizes the underworld and like its enemy Garuda, it is featured on many temples in Thailand and is also the protector of Buddha. Naga can be shown with one to seven or more heads of a serpent body. The Naga coin completes the Mythic Battle of Dynamic Opposites series, where the two mythical creatures clash in battle. The Certificate of Authenticity for both coins is incorporated in the Naga obverse. The Naga 2 Oz Silver coin is struck in a new minting technique that combines 11.5 Oz of Copper in between two layers of fine Silver, resulting in super ultra-High Relief while being tapped off with Silver Antique Finishing. The technique allows the coin to have an incredible weight and feel in the hand together with 80 mm diameter size. The obverse of the coins depicts the Coat of Arms of Chad and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" – the issuing country, "10000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value and "2020" – the year of issue. As the first of its kind, the Naga obverse acts as the Certificate of Authenticity, for both collectible coins in the series, "Garuda" and "Naga", certifying that the collectible coin is authentic and issued by the authority of the Republic of Chad and is legal tender in the country.
