WHITE TIGER 2 Oz Silver Coin 10000 Francs Chad 2022

The reverse of this coin depicts a White Tiger with its teeth clearly visible while scaling the high coloured mountains. According to Chinese legend, the tiger's tail would turn white once it reached the age of 500 years. In this way, it became a kind of mythological creature. It was said that the White Tiger would only appear when the emperor ruled with absolute virtue or if there was peace throughout the world. Since the colour white in Wu Xing's theory also represents the West, the White Tiger became a mythological Guardian of the West. At the top right, just above the drawn clouds, is the inscription "THE WHITE TIGER ANCIENT SIX MYTHICAL BEASTS". On the center of the obverse, the Coat of Arms of Chad and the inscriptions:"REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" – the country of issue, "10000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value and "2022" – the year of issue. This coin was minted with a new minting technique called "Bi-Metal Max", applied to give this piece its remarkable weight while keeping its proportions true to the actual painting. This is made possible by combining 33.5 Oz of Copper as a base with a top painting layer of 2 Oz of pure Silver, resulting in an incredible High Relief.
