AMMONITE FOSSIL EXCAVATION 1 Oz Silver Coin 5000 Francs Chad 2023

On the Reverse of the coin an image of an ammonite fossil. This fossil played an important role in the marine ecosystem as both predators and prey. Excavating these fossils is a delicate process that requires a skilled paleontologist, often found in sedimentary rock formations. The coin features the "Bi-Metal Reverse" tecnique, possible by combining 11.5 oz of Copper as a base with a top layer of 1 Oz of 999 fine Silver, resulting in a super High Relief topped with Silver antiqued finishing. The obverse features the portrait of Vincent Van Gogh, the Coat of Arms of TChad and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" – the country of issue, "2023" – the year of issue, "5000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value.
