On coin obverse a colour printed image of a Rabbit in the snow within a northern Europe winter scene. This image signifies determination (ability to survive in the harsh winter climate), a character trait of people born under Year of the Rabbit. The engraved Chinese symbol for year of the rabbit signifies an earthly branch.
On the obverse the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II sovereign of the commonwealth of the Pitcairn Islands.
