The reverse of the coin shows a Great white pelican. They are highly social birds and often gather in large flocks while fishing or resting. They mainly feed on fish and can often be seen swimming in shallow waters using their large pouches to scoop up their prey. These majestic birds are also known for their graceful flight and are a common sight in wetlands and coastal areas. On the obverse, the Public Seal of Niue and the inscriptions: "5 DOLLARS" - the face value and "2024" - the year of issue.
