The reverse of this Copper medal portrays the Mexican War of Independence. The Angel of Independence is immortalized as a skeleton, leading the war with a sword. A selective coloration enhances the battle scene. On the reverse, also the Coat of Arms of Mexico, which is shown on the base of the Angel of Independence, and the inscription: "only the dead have seen the end of war" - a famous quotation from Plato. The obverse of this Copper medal features Charon, ferryman of the dead, transporting souls, along with the inscriptions: "ONE OBOLUS" – a small coin in ancient Greece, which he would exchange for his services, and "999 ONE HUNDRED GRAMS" – the fineness of the metal and the weight of the medal.
