The Little Match Girl: a Silver Coin waiting to be discovered

With the unintentional help of the writer Hans Christian Andersen, the second coin of the "Fear Tales" series, entitled "The Little Match Girl" arrives in the world of numismatics. But let's take a closer look to admire the reverse of this masterpiece.

The coin, made in 999 Silver, thanks to the Smartminting technology, breaks into the numismatic world with a powerful fairy-tale style. The design is so impressive and is able to communicate the restlessness that the little match girl suffers in the last moments of her life.

These last moments of life are inextricably linked to the life of the match that the shivering girl has in her right hand, holding a Blue blanket. The main character of the scene is the "Lady" putting her hand on the girl's shoulder and waiting for taking her soul. She is waiting for the match goes off and there is no escape: behind them, a wall takes away all hope."Fear Tales" appears written on the wall symmetrically with respect to the scythe.  You know that nothing is left to chance!

The obverse is also full of interesting and highly emotional details.

A wooden sign dominates the scene. On it, the inscription "Sadly Ever After" paraphrases the famous classic phrase "Happily Ever After" to signify an happy ending. Maybe the sign intends to suggest the road you shouldn't take. The background is dominated by a deep and dark forest with silhouetted trees. Maybe, the same one where the Little Red Riding Hood met the Wolf the first time. The Palau Coat of Arms is unmistakable with the face value of 10 dollars.

This coin, which is enjoying an unprecedented success, is also worthy of collecting with its incredible and original packaging.

A great and special idea. It's a wooden box perfectly shaped as a book with a clever opening mechanism, an etched decoration and the Power Coin logo sealing it all. This special book contains this precious coin and its Certificate of Authenticity.

The obverse of the coin and the fabulous wooden box are the same in the series. Series realized thanks to the technical and artistic skills of the designer Chiara Principe: an artist able to give shape and style to thoughts and ideas.

Taking the series from the common obverse, it is no coincidence that we mentioned the Little Red Riding Hood. The first coin of the series, now in limited pieces available, is dedicated to the evergreen fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm. The fairy tale with its naive and innocent style is presented with an alternative ending. A final that seems not to have a happy ending, which is common to the coins of the entire series.

Allow us now to say a few words about the style and technique of Little Red Riding Hood's coin!!!

At first sight, you are impressed by the red colour of the cloak and the majesty of the wolf's teeth. The details of this coin are so realistic that you are almost afraid to touch it, the fear of being bitten.

It's really worth to take a closer look.

The sad face full of deep tears, the resigned posture and the basket, still full of food that can be seen from the cloak, leave little room for interpretation: Little Red Riding Hood is not safe, but is in the wolf's jaws. The ending seems obvious but it is still open...
