Coin Constellation“Coin Constellation” is a prestigious international coin contest held in Russia and attended by mints, banks and coin distribution companies from all over the world. The competition is organized by the publishing house “Water Mark”, publisher of one of the most respected titles in the numismatic industry: “Gold Chervonets”. Each year an international professional jury select the best coins in the following categories: Unique Concept, Best Artistic Solution, Original Technology, Best Circulating Coin, Coin Classics, Souvenir Coin, Silver Coin of the Year, Gold Coin of the Year, Coin of the Year. This year Power Coin participated in six categories and won in three of them!

Two SistersThe first place in the “Original Technology” category was given to “Two Sisters”, the second issue in the “Micropuzzle Treasures” series reproducing one of Renoir’s masterpiece. Did you know that this incredible coin features 254 minted pieces of a puzzle? The design is built on three layers: the base, visible where the puzzle pieces are missing, the puzzle itself and the pieces overlaid on the puzzle. A real piece of art reproducing another piece of art! |

Voyager Golden RecordAnother first place was assigned to Power Coin in the “Souvenir Coin” category for “Voyager Golden Record”. This Silver coin is a reproduction of the two phonograph records sent into space in 1977 and containing sounds and images of life on Earth intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life. The Voyager has crossed the boundary of our sun’s magnetic influence in 2012 and is now travelling in the vastness of interstellar space. Has any alien listened to the record? We do not know yet! But humans can listen to the “Sound of Earth” on several platforms online. |
Mechanical Bee“Mechanical Bee” got a prize too: third place in the “Unique Concept” category. The coin is the first issue in the “Clockwork Evolution” series and features a half real and half mechanical bee. Did you know that bees are extremely important to the environment? Not only they produce honey, they also sustain biodiversity by providing essential pollination for a wide range of crops and wild plants! Unfortunately, over the past ten years, beekeepers have been reporting unusual weakening of bee numbers. We must act now to protect this important insect, but in the worst case scenario we should also start thinking of a way to replace it. Will Mechanical Bees be part of our future? |

Over the past years Power Coin won multiple awards at “Coin Constellation” with “Investment Chip”, “Mona Lisa”, “Rape of Proserpina” and “Birth of Venus”.
Our goal is to design the most innovative and original coins, we do not do it for the prizes, but it is very pleasing seeing that all our efforts are paying off!
