PLANETS OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM 5 Oz Silver Coin 5$ Tuvalu 2022
DESTINATION SPACEHello friends, welcome back to Power Coin’s blog! Four astronauts left our planet just a few days ago. Space is the final destination! The team, lead by Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, will spend six months in orbit conducting research and experiments. I've been following the launch of the new space mission "Minerva" with great enthusiasm and, to stay on the subjetct, I'd like to present you a coin by Perth Mint depicting the Solar System. |
THE COIN“Planets of the Solar System” comes in a classic display case and is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity, which also includes a short description of the Solar System. The coin is made of 5 Oz of pure Silver, has a diameter of 55.90 mm and is 7.50 mm thick. The reverse of the collectible depicts the Solar System, however, this is not the classic representation that we are used to see. The planets, indeed, are represented clockwise from the smallest to the largest in size: Pluto, which in 2006 was downgraded to “dwarf planet”, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter. The planets are in High Relief and have a gorgeous metallic hue. The design also incorporates the Sun, a comet and some cosmic clouds in the background. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and, all around, some issue data. Tuvalu is the country that issued this lovely coin, which has a face value of $5 and a limited mintage of 388 pieces worldwide! |
