The Ocean needs our help

The ocean is a continuous body of salt water that covers more than 70% of the Earth's surface. It is our life source, supporting humanity’s sustenance and that of every other organism on earth.

Oceans govern the world's weather and churn a kaleidoscope of life, besides feeding billions of people and producing at least 50% of the planet’s oxygen.

To protect and preserve the ocean and all it sustains, we must create a new balance, rooted in true understanding of the ocean and how humanity relates to it. We must build a connection to the ocean that is inclusive, innovative, and informed by lessons from the past.

What can I do?

Here are some simple things you can do to help our ocean:

- conserve water

- dispose cleaning products properly

- reduce waste

- buy less plastic and use a reusable bag

- reduce vehicle pollution

- use less energy

- fish responsibly

- volunteer for cleanups at the beach and in your community
