Today we are going to talk about the astonishing coin that received 1st place in the “Unique Concept” category at Coin Constellation: Robots Love.

“Robots Love” is a 3 Oz Silver coin, it boasts Obsidian Black Proof quality, Reverse Proof (glossy and matte finishes on the same design) and a partial 24 Karat Gold Plating. It has a diameter of 50 mm and is part of “The Next Evolution” series, a series consisting of 5 collectible coins depicting futuristic robots.

The focus of this coin's design is on the idea that humanity may eventually coexist alongside robots that are capable of feeling love for both humans and other robots.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin portrays a close-up view of two robots hugging. The Gilded robot is a man, while the Silver one is a woman. They both display Proof and Reverse Proof finish. The fact that the two robots resemble humans is yet another indicator that humans and robots may one day be nearly indistinguishable from one another.

Obsidian Black Proof, a very dark black finish that almost resembles black glass, was used to recreate the background.

The coin presents the inscription “LOVE” at the top of the reverse and has other inscriptions on the edge: the serial number, “THE NEXT EVOLUTION SERIES”, which is the name of the series, “ARTISAN COIN PRODUCTIONS”, the issuing mint and “CALIFORNIA”, the location of the design studio.

It is hardly surprising that this coin placed top in Coin Constellation's "Unique Concept" nomination. Clean and delicate lines depicting the two robots' emotions are part of the amazing design, which also includes a unique High Relief called "Pinnacle Relief" that gives the robots a three-dimensional perspective.

Obverse

The Queen's effigy is shown at the center of a microchip on the coin's obverse, which also has an Obsidian Black Proof finish. This side of the coin has some inscriptions: “2021”, the year of issue, “Tokelau”, the country of issue, “Elizabeth II”, the name of the Queen, “20 New Zealand Dollars”, the face value, and “3 oz. Fine Silver 99.9%”. the weight of the coin and fineness of the Silver.  The mintage of this coin is limited to 399 pieces.

Presentation

The same design is also offered in a total Obsidian Black Proof finish with a very limited mintage of only 99 pieces worldwide. Both versions of the coin come in a display case and include numismatic black signature gloves to handle the coin and the Certificate of Authenticity.
