“Creation of Adam” is the 5 Oz Special Edition coin in the “Micropuzzle Treasures” series. How is this Special edition different from the other releases? First of all, "Creation of Adam" is a 5 Oz coin, it is bigger, it has a diameter of 80 mm, versus the 3 Oz weight and 65 mm diameter of the previous releases. A larger diameter and 2 extra Oz of Silver allowed us to create a Higher Relief!

The design features three levels as usual: a Proof base, the colored puzzle and the missing pieces laying on top of the puzzle. If you compare the special edition coin with the previous releases, you will immediately notice that in “Creation of Adam” both the puzzle layer and the extra pieces are way thicker and this makes the reverse very realistic. If you enjoy making puzzles, you will wish you could move the pieces on the coin and complete the puzzle! Furthermore, this is the Micropuzzle coin with the most pieces that we have ever done! It has over 290 colored pieces minted in Smartminting Ultra High Relief and features an innovative circular puzzle motif that perfectly matches the artwork on it.

Creation of Adam

The Creation of Adam is a fresco painting by Italian artist Michelangelo and is part of the Sistine Chapel ceiling. If you ever visit Rome, I highly recommend you go see it.  

The Creation of Adam illustrates God reaching out and touching the finger of Adam to give him the gift of life. This is the most popular interpretation given to the artwork, but some say that since Adam is already alive and fully conscious in Michelangelo’s painting, maybe he is receiving the gift of artistic and academic ability.

More about the coin

The circular puzzle motif draws the viewer's attention to the center of the coin, which is where God and Adam's fingers are located in the design and serve as the scene's focal point.

The obverse side of the coin is common to the series, it has a frame with puzzle pieces and some missing pieces with different finishes of the Silver. The obverse also incorporates the inscription: “MICROPUZZLE SPECIAL” and the Coat of Arms of Palau. The coin comes in a themed case and in a capsule with two security rings that prevents the parts in relief from rubbing the capsule and getting spoiled or losing coloration.
