DARK ROYAL FLUSH You Can't Cheat Death 3 Oz Silver Coin 20$ Palau 2022
DARK ROYAL FLUSHThe exclusive series signed by Power Coin continues with a new game and a new lesson that teaches us that we have no control whatsoever over fate. The first coin in this series is called "DARK CHECKMATE" and shows a game of chess, whereas “DARK ROYAL FLUSH” is the latest release and immerses you in a poker game against the scary Death. Chiara Principe, a talented coin artist with whom we had the pleasure of working on some projects, hand-designed both coins in this series, which come packaged in a display case with the Certificate of Authenticity. |
THE COINThe Obsidian Black Proof Finish of the Dark Royal Flush, a 3 Oz Silver coin with a diameter of 55 mm, is a very dark finish that completely absorbs light and perfectly matches the theme of the series. The coin also has colored, glossy, and polished parts, so both the obverse and the reverse have various finishes. The image on the coin's reverse side shows a poker game between the Grim Reaper, whose bones can be plainly recognized, and the observer, who is made to feel like a participant in the game by the perspective and Smartminting Ultra High Relief. The human player has 5 cards in his hands and shows a Royal Flush, which is the hand of the highest possible value. In particular, he has a Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of Spades. He decides to wager his soul, which he is clutching in his left hand, because he is confident that he would win the game given his high score. |
YOU CAN’T CHEAT DEATH… BUT DEATH CAN CHEAT YOU!On the left edge of the coin is an emblematic inscription that reads, "...BUT DEATH CAN CHEAT YOU". What does it mean? Let's start from the beginning. The first coin in the series, "Dark Checkmate," features an inscription that reads, "YOU CAN'T CHEAT DEATH", with the second part of the coin reading, "...BUT DEATH CAN CHEAT YOU." Why and how might Death trick you? Let's explore the narrative that this design communicates. The Ace of Spades the player is holding begins to change and reveals a skull just as he is about to risk his souls and bet that he will win the game. The story continues on the obverse of the coin, showing the hand of the Grim Reaper grabbing the man’s soul. Do you want to know what happened? Death changed one of the man's cards, winning the game with the Poker of Aces, which is displayed at the bottom. The man aggressively smacks his fist on the table and throws his cards after losing the game and his soul. There are fiches all over the obverse, one of them incorporating the Coat of Arms of Palau.
