CUPID AND PSYCHE REVIEW - Eternal Sculptures - Canova - 2 Oz Silver Coin - Palau 2016

This is the week of love because, last Wednesday, was Valentine’s Day! Do you know that we have the perfect silver coin to celebrate this festivity?
I’m talking about our beautiful “Cupid and Psyche”, the first issue from the “Eternal Sculptures” series.

The Series

“Eternal Sculptures” is an official Power Coin series that celebrates the classic sculptures that have become eternal.
The first issues were “Cupid and Psyche”, and “Venus de Milo”, whereas the last issue was “Rape of Proserpina”, recently introduced to you.
The choice to adopt the Smartminting Technology and the wonderful marble effect on both faces of the Silver Coins is what has really surprised the Modern Numismatics World.

The Case

The coin comes in this attractive case: it is a black wooden case with a mirror finish and Power Coin’s logo at the center.
When we open it, we find the Power Coin’s logo once again on the upper part and the Silver coin in this part.
The case also includes the certificate of authenticity with all the coin’s specifications. 

The reverse

The Reverse of this wonderful coin reproduces the incredible front view of the famous sculpture Cupid and Psyche with very impressive high relief. On the center of the coin, the two protagonists are hugging in a love scene.
The special paint used for the sculpture creates an incredible marble effect.
All around the reverse, we can see this wonderful decorative floral pattern. On the right side of the reverse, the logo and the name of the series: “Eternal Sculptures” and “Cupid and Psyche” – the name of the coin.
On the bottom part of the coin, an attractive inscription of the issue year with roman numbers: “MMXVI” - 2016. 

The obverse

The obverse of the coin depicts the other side of the sculpture, finished with the same marble effect and with incredible High reliefs.
All around the obverse, a beautiful decorative pattern. On the right side, the Coat of Arms of Palau and the face value: “10 Dollars”. This coin has a marvelous black proof quality and a limited mintage of only 999 pieces worldwide!
