The reverse of the coin depicts six segments with the images of the six Space Shuttles, one per segment, and the inscriptions: "ENTERPRISE - COLUMBIA - CHALLENGER - DISCOVERY - ATLANTIS - ENDEAVOUR" - the name of the Space Shuttles. The centre of the coin features a crystal clear window that holds material taken from all six Shuttles. On the right side, the inscription: "2016" - the issue year. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. On the left, the inscription: "ELIZABETH II" - the name of the Queen and on the right, the inscription: "COOK ISLANDS" - the issue country.
