The reverse of the coin depicts some fossil remains of an Edaphosaurus, a genus of extinct Synapsids. The primitive herbivorous relative of mammals reached a body length of over 3.5 metres, with a short, low skull and blunt, conical teeth. The most distinctive feature, however, was the large «sail» on its back. The bones are Rose-Gold plated, on an Antique Finish rock background. At the top left of the reverse, the inscription: "SYNAPSIDA" – the name of the coin. At the right, the inscription: "PERMIAN PERIOD". At the bottom, the inscriptions: "EVOLUTION OF LIFE" – the name of the series and "2022" – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin depicts the Mongolian Coat of Arms and the inscriptions: "MONGOLIA" – the issuing country, "1oz .999 SILVER" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver and "500 TOGROG" – the face value.
