The reverse of the medal features Jesus Taken Down from the Cross. On the reverse, the scene when Jesus breathes his last, and Mary's mind was trying to come to terms with reality. She did not understand the cruelty with which her son had been killed and wondered what would become of his tortured body. On the reverse also the name of the medal. On the obverse, the picture of Mater Dolorosa showing suffering and pain.
