The reverse of the coin depicts Jurij Gagarin in the guise of astronaut, on the back the departure of a shuttle and the planet Earth. Around the reverse, the inscription: "Гагарин - первыйчеловеквкосмосе" – Gagarin - the first man in space, the name of the coin in Russian. The obverse depicts the State Emblem of the Soviet Union and the inscriptions: "10 побед" – means 10 victories, "CCCP", "1 Oz AG 999.9" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver.
