On the left, one of the carracks that arrived at Salucar de Barrameda in Spain. In the background, a representation of the globe. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: "THE MAGELLAN-ELCANO CIRCUMNAVIGATION OF THE GLOBE" – the name of the coin and "500TH ANNIVERSARY". The obverse of the coin features the Coat of Arms of Malta and the inscriptions: "MALTA" – the country of issue and "2022" – the year of issue.
