For this heroic decision they were cruelly murdered by the German occupier. The coin has an Amber heart insert, and comes in a case, along with a Certificate of Authenticity. The reverse of the coin represents the Ulma family, consisting of Józef Ulma, a Polish Catholic, his wife Wiktoria, and their six children, lived in Markowa, a small village in southeastern Poland during World War II. In 1942, they made the courageous decision to shelter eight Jews in their home. The Jewish individuals they protected were the Szall family, consisting of two parents and six children. On the reverse, the inscription: "IN MEMORY OF THE ULMA FAMILY" - the name of the coin. The obverse shows a composition of palm leaves and lily flowers. On the obverse are the inscriptions: "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2024 - issuing country and year, "50 ZŁ" - the face value and "BENEDITI SAMARITANI" and an image of an eagle, established as the emblem of the Republic of Poland.
