This coin pays homage to Diaethria Clymena, a beautiful butterfly found in South America, which is commonly called "eighty-eight", in reference to the characteristic patterns on the hindwing consisting of black dots surrounded by concentric white and black lines and recalling the number "88". The reverse of the coin features a very realistic Diaethria Clymena, magnified by a lens decoration, on a vividly colored natural background. On the edge of the lens, the inscription: "Diaethria Clymena" - the name of the coin. The obverse features the Coat of Arms of Cameroon, along with the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" – the country of issue, "2024" – the year of issue, and "500 FRANCS CFA" – the face value.
