The reverse of the coin depicts a Gilded turtle. Turtles have survived glacial periods and global warming, volcanic eruptions and meteorite strikes and this coin is inspired by their incredible strength. At the bottom of the reverse, the isncription: "BE SRTONG". Th obverse od the coin features a pattern recalling turtle's skin and, at the center, the inscriptions: "1000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value, "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" – the country of issue and "2022" – the year of issue.
