The reverse of the coin is realized to resemble the iris, the colored part of the eye belonging to the Big Brother. It is the symbol of the concept of control by the Big Brother in Orwell's novel 1984, offering the dystopian vision of a society where the government has complete control over every aspect of citizens' lives. On the obverse, the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" - the issuing country, "2000 FRANCS CFA" - the face value and "2 oz Ag 999" - the weight and the fineness of the Silver.
