The reverse of the coin depicts a Smartminting 4.0 Ultra High Relief design of an aircraft breaking through the sound barrier, commemorating the historical achievement of flying faster than the speed of sound. At the top of the reverse, the inscriptions: "FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF SOUND" and "JUST BEFORE YOU BREAK THROUGH THE SOUND BARRIER, THE COCKPIT SHAKES THE MOST. CHUCK YEAGER " - a famous quote by the first pilot that broke the sound barrier. At the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: "2023" – the year of issue and "SOUND BARRIER" - the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin features the Coat of Arms of Palau with a depiction of the backside of the same aircraft in ultra-high relief. All around the obverse, the inscriptions: "BEYOND SOUND" - a quote commemorating this incredible achievement, "REPUBLIC OF PALAU" – the issuing country and "20$" – the face value.
