The reverse of the coins features two butterflies wheeling above two melons with vine and flowers. A big gourd and swirling vine pattern appears in the background. On the left of the reverse of both coins, the inscription: "瓜瓞绵绵" - a phrase extracted from an ancient Chinese classic The Book of Songs (Gua Die Mian Mian). On the Silver coin, the inscription: "10元" – the face value and on the Gold coin, the inscription: "80元". The obverse of the coins depicts the Coat of Arms of China and the inscriptions: "中华人民共和国" – the issue country and "2017" – the year of issue.
