Field Marshall Horatio Herbert Kitchener (1850 - 1916) was made famous by the ‘Your Country Needs You!' posters back in World War I. At that time, Lord Kitchener made the following comment on the development of tanks: "A pretty mechanical toy but with very limited military value." Yet, history proved him wrong, as tanks played a major role in World War II.
The reverse on each coin includes The Perth Mint's ‘P' mintmark and depicts a detailed image of each legendary tank. The design has been struck in traditional frosted relief on a shiny silver table. This is contrasted with the striking pad-printed colour background which highlights the national emblem of each country. The Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2010 year-date appear on the obverse of each coin.
