YEAR OF THE DOG Lunar Silver Coin 10$ Canada 2018

The reverse of the coin designed by Canadian artist Simon Ng has recreates a stylized depiction of a Dog standing above a traditional Chinese latticework that incorporates a rose, one of the Dog's lucky flowers. A rose also appears on the Dog's chest, while oncidium and cymbidium orchids, the Dog's other floral charms, fill the remainder of its silhouette. Beautiful engraving captures the energy of the loyal Dog personality that is always poised and ready to play—or protect. On top of the reverse, the inscriptions: "2018" – the year of issue, "CANADA" – the issuing country and "10 DOLLARS" – the face value. On the bottom, the inscription: "狗" – Dog in Chinese character. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen and "D · G · REGINA" – the latin acronym that stands for "Dei Gratia Regina".
