The reverse of the coin features a scary and brave pirate, cursed by an old hex. His skin has been tear away by the winds of the Seven Seas and the amount of gold and treasures he collected during the years is so big than the golden coins are clinking everywhere. He has just added a new piece to his precious collection: the terror of the sea, the Black Ship. Imprisoned in a bottle by a curse, the ship can be freed only with the power of a black diamond ring, which we see glimmering on the pirate's right hand, featuring a true Black Diamond insert. The inscription "BLACK DIAMOND" is on the top left of the edge. On the obverse the Niue cote of arm, the inscriptions: "BLACK DIAMOND" - the name of he coin, "2 Oz" - the weight of the coin, "5 DOLLARS" - the face value and "Ag 999" - the purity.
