The ReverseThe reverse of the coin, by Chris Facey, shows the instruments used by each member of the band: Brian May’s Red Special guitar, John Deacon’s Fender Precision bass, Roger Taylor’s Ludwig bass drum and Freddie Mercury’s Bechstein grand piano. The piano has keys pressed to show the opening notes of Bohemian Rhapsody. The band name and the mic-stand that Freddie Mercury used complete the design. The design was approved by band members Roger Taylor and Brian May. |
The ObverseThe obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “D·G·REG·F·D” – the latin acronym that stands for: Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor and “2020” – the year of issue and “200 POUNDS” – the face value. |
