COUPLE UNDER ONE UMBRELLA Review: Micropuzzle Treasures 3 Oz Silver Coin 20$ Palau 2022
Hello Friends, Ilaria here, welcome back to Power Coin!
Not too long ago Power Coin surprised the numismatic world with a new revolutionary series: Micropuzzle Treasures.
After “Starry Night”, “Two Sisters on the Terrace” and “Reverie”, the forth outstanding issue in this collection has finally arrived!
Afremov, a modern impressionist The design on the reverse of this coin reproduces “Couple Under One Umbrella”, one of Afremov’s masterpieces. Afremov is a contemporary impressionist artist who worked with palette knives and oils. During his life he mainly painted city scenes, vintage cars, seascapes, flowers and even cats playing jazz. “Couple Under One Umbrella” portrays a romantic scene with a couple walking under the rain and sharing an umbrella. For this painting, Afremov used a fall color palette with bright colors in amazing harmony with each other. |
Couple Under One Umbrella: the Reverse Like the other coins in this series, Couple Under One Umbrella features minted pieces of a puzzle, thanks to Smartminting technology, and it presents three different layers. The first layer has Proof quality and is the base of the puzzle; the second layer is in High Relief and features the puzzle itself; the third layer is in Ultra High Relief and presents the pieces of the puzzle waiting to be put into place. The feeling that I get looking at this coin is that someone is working on this puzzle. It is so realistic that I want to to take the missing pieces and complete it! Being a perfectionist, I was curios to know if the number of missign pieces matches with the number of pieces spread out on the reverse. The answer is very satisfying: YES! The puzzle has a gap of 14 pieces and that is exactly the number of pieces laying on the scene. |
The Obverse The obverse of the coin is common to the series. It features the Coat of Arms of Palau with the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” – the country of issue and “20$” – the face value. All around there is a frame with a puzzle design. I like that some pieces are missing, this detail enlightens the frame and gives it a dynamic look. At the top and at the bottom, the inscription: “MICROPUZZLE TREASURES” - the name of this amazing series.
Stay tuned! Collect, Invest, Enjoy! |
