GOLDEN SNITCH 3D Review: 3 Oz Silver Coin 5$ Samoa 2022
Hello friends, Ilaria here, welcome back to Power Coin!
Today I feel magical, do you want to know why? Because I have the uncatchable Golden Snitch here with me at Power Coin!
HISTORY OF THE SNITCHThe Snitch was the third and smallest ball used in Quidditch in Harry Potter saga. It flew around the Quidditch field at high speeds until one of the two seekers would catch it and thus end the game. Before moving forward with the coin description, I want to share with you something that I found out while researching the Snitch online: the Golden Snitch was originally not a ball, but a little magical bird called “Golden Snidget”. This little bird was unleashed for the first time during a Quidditch game in the year 1269 by the Chief of the Wizards’ Council, Barberus Bragge, who offered a reward of 150 Galleons to the player who caught it. Since then, catching a poor little Snidget became the most important part of Quidditch, but this new habit harmed the birds’ population. Indeed, Snidgets were very fragile and they were squeezed to death at every seeker’s grip. When the Snidgets were labeled ad an endangered species, they were replaced by the Golden Snitch, invented by the metal-charmer Bowman Wright. |
THE COINHARRY POTTER GOLDEN SNITCH is a unique 3D Silver coin that stands out among all other Harry Potter coins. It weights 3 Oz, is about the size of a walnut (35x85 mm) and is a very detailed copy of the Golden Snitch as seen in the Harry Potter Movies. The design is very interesting: the coin is Gold plated and is made of a sphere with details in High Relief and two wings on the sides. The face value of this coin is 5$, as shown on the obverse, that also includes the Coat of Arms of Samoa and the inscriptions: “SAMOA 2022” and “3 oz Ag 999”, the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver. I am sure that whoever owns this coin does not want to keep it hidden! Good news: you do not have to! This striking coin comes in an elegant display case made of wood and plexiglass that allows you to show off the Snitch like you caught it yourself! This collectible is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity that shows a limited mintage of 2.022 pieces worldwide!
