SCARAB SELECTION II REVIEW - Set 3x1 Oz Silver Coins - Cook Islands 2017

Today I would like to introduce to you the incredible “SCARAB SELECTION II” set, that includes a sublime selection of masterfully minted coins featuring 3 scarabs!
We are now waiting for the third set of the series and we are so excited because, considering the official images, they seem to be fabulous!

Scarabs in Ancient Egypt

Scarabs were so popular in Ancient Egypt: they were associated with the divine manifestation of Khepri, the early morning sun, whose name was written with the scarab hieroglyph.
Scarabs were used as amulets, they were also engraved to use as personal or administrative seals and sometimes they were included in jewelry.

Ok, time to take a closer look at this incredible set!

The reverse

A Silver scarab on a gilded background introduces the set and on the bottom part of its reverse, the inscription: “BEYOND THE WORLD” – the name of the coin.
Next in line is a black proof scarab holding a dark Swarovski crystal and the inscription: “LUNAR ECLIPSE” – the name of the coin.
Completing the selection is a Rose Gold scarab on a Silver surface and the inscription: “SOLITARY FLAME” – the name of the coin.
Thanks to the Smartminting Technology, the coins feature incredible details and unique high reliefs, typical of this series.

The obverse

The obverse of all the three coins depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” - the name of the Queen, “5 DOLLARS” - the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” - the issuing country and “2017” - the year of issue.
All three coins have a proof quality and an extremely limited mintage of only 499 pieces worldwide!
