The beautiful Asian Tiger

The Asian Tiger is the most iconic of the big cats that belong to the Panthera Genus. With their gorgeous black-and-orange coats and long white whiskers, they invoke in many a feeling of wonder and admiration.

Most tigers live in forests and grasslands, for which their camouflage is ideally suited. Of all the big cats, only the tiger and jaguar are strong swimmers, and tigers may often be found bathing in ponds, lakes and rivers. Tigers hunt alone, and their diet consists primarily of medium-sized herbivores such as deer, wild pigs, and buffalo, but they will also take larger or smaller prey if the circumstances demand it.

The Big Five Asia series by Atelier Paul De Greef, which is famous for its incredible High Reliefs, is back with the brand new Édition Noire Big 5 Asia.

The first issue of the series is a 5 Oz Silver coin with a diameter of 50 mm. It has incredible High Reliefs, for a total height of 11.52 mm. Only 500 pieces of this coin were minted, as stated in the Numebered Certificate of Authenticity, which also includes two small paragraphs about Atelier Paul De Greef, a description of the coin and the coin specifications.

The reverse depicts a beautiful tiger face in High Relief and with many incredible details. The fur, the lines of the whiskers, along with other details, are shown to perfection as a result of the excellent minting.

The three-dimensional high Relief gives the impression that the tiger is moving forward. On top of this, both the reverse and the obverse of the coin are covered in a black ceramic coating, resulting in a brilliant effect. The tiger also has vivid yellow-green eyes that create a beautiful contrast with the black ceramic coating.

The year of issue of this coin is 2021, it is legal tender in Ivory Coast, the face value is 5.000 Francs.
