Today I'm going to chat with you about an incredible Silver Coin that is part of the wonderful “4 Layers” series, dedicated to a Roman Catholic church, and that celebrates the Sacre Coeur Basilica.

Sacre Coeur Basilica

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. Sacré-Cœur is a double monument, political and cultural, both a national penance for the defeat of France in the 1870 Franco-Prussian War and the socialist Paris Commune of 1871 crowning its most rebellious neighborhood and an embodiment of conservative moral order, publicly dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was an increasingly popular vision of a loving and sympathetic Christ.

The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “SOLOMON ISLANDS” – the issuing country, “Ag999” – the fineness of the Silver, “2018” – the year of issue and “100g” – the weight of the coin.

The dome shape creates a unique 3D-effect showing astonishing details.
