The ReverseThe coin features a genuine meteorite insert, has a stunning Ultra High Relief in lens shape and an Antique Finish quality. The reverse of it depicts an incredible view of the face of Chicxulub and its stunning impact crater with a beautiful meteorite on the bottom. At the centre of the coin, a beautifully coloured image of Chicxulub. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: “CHICXULUB CRATER YUCATAN” – the name of the coin and “THE CRETACEOUS-PALEOGEN (K-PG) EXTINCTION EVENT”.

The ObverseThe coin's design continues on the obverse that features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the left. All around the coin, the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “20 DOLLARS” – the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” – the issuing country and “2019” – the year of issue.
